Overview
With this update, Science Online will prove to be an even more powerful and engaging resource. We have added more than 280 videos, 570 newly colored diagrams, more than 400 photographs and illustrations, and new essays from more than 20 print titles. We are committed to making Science Online a highly visual and comprehensive learning resource that brings the study of science to life, and we are especially excited about introducing video in time for the new school year. New Videos and Animations Section
Videos will now appear in search results under an "Images, Videos & Animations" tab as well as under the "All Results" tab. There is also a new "Videos and Animations" section on the home page under the Browse Science Resources section. Browse videos alphabetically or use the "View by Subject" drop-down box to browse by subject. Alternatively, visit the "Explore Subject" pages to view videos organized by subject. Each video is accompanied by a detail page that includes a brief description of the material in the clip, the running time, links to related videos, and suggested searches. New videos include:

New Color Diagrams, Illustrations, and PhotographsThe editors of Science Online have added hundreds of new color diagrams, illustrations, and photographs this month. The use of color in the diagrams and illustrations makes it easy to understand important concepts and see detail. In addition, illustrations and photographs have been embedded into essays across a wide variety of scientific disciplines again allowing users to better visualize ideas and processes. New records include:
New Essays New essays have been added in a variety of subjects, including space and astronomy, botany, marine biology, and biotechnology. Many essays include accompanying images that can be enlarged and opened with a caption, as well as links to related articles and experiments, suggested searches, citation information, and permanent "Record URL" links.
